Sunday mornings.

Worship operators across congregations of every size run Play & Worship every week. Here are the moments they keep coming back to — the small confidence wins, the saved minutes, and the services that ran like rehearsal even when they didn't.

We cut our Sunday morning prep time in half. Loading the service once and pressing Space through it is genuinely how it should feel.

The Bible browser alone is worth it. Jumping to a reference mid-sermon and having it live in two clicks used to be a dream.

I onboarded a brand-new volunteer last week in 15 minutes. The preview/live monitors just make sense — nobody has to explain twice.

Our projector laptop is 8 years old and runs everything fine. The "browser-based" thing isn't a limitation — it's the whole reason it works on our gear.

Blackout on B and the fact that it doesn't lose state is the single most useful feature I've ever used in worship software. Period.

We were paying for a per-seat tool that was way more than we needed. Switching saved us about $700 a year and a lot of friction.

The first Sunday I used it, I forgot I was running the projector. The schedule just played itself.

How three churches use it differently.

The same tool ends up looking different on every operator's desk. Here are three congregations and how Play & Worship landed for each.

Case Study · 800 Sunday Attendance

Grace Community — cutting prep from 4 hours to 90 minutes.

Grace Community runs three identical services on Sunday mornings. Before Play & Worship, the lead operator rebuilt the deck for each service from scratch because their previous tool didn't support a true template. Now they build the service once, export the JSON, and load it three times. The remaining 30 minutes go to coffee and rehearsal.

The features that landed: the export/import JSON workflow, the Tagalog filter (Grace runs a second-service Filipino congregation), and the fact that arrow keys stay inside the current song so a stray button-mash never skips to the offering slide mid-bridge.

Case Study · Multi-Campus (4 sites)

Living Hope — one service, four sanctuaries, four operators.

Living Hope Chapel operates four campuses with shared sermon content. Their challenge was getting four operators on the same page each week without forcing one centralized scheduling tool. The answer ended up being shockingly simple: the lead campus operator builds the schedule, exports the JSON, and posts it in their team Slack channel. Each campus operator imports the file Saturday night and the schedules are identical.

When a campus needs to adjust — different announcement video, different scripture translation — they tweak after import. Songs merge by ID so updates from one operator don't blow away another's local changes.

Case Study · 120 Sunday Attendance

Calvary Baptist — onboarding a volunteer in a single Saturday.

Calvary Baptist is a small church with a rotating volunteer A/V team. Their previous tool required a 6-hour onboarding session and a printed cheat sheet. Pastor Ana Balonon needed a tool a volunteer could learn between coffee and a 4 PM rehearsal — and never panic over mid-service.

The thing that clicked for new volunteers: the Preview-Live mental model. The new operator immediately understands that "what I see in blue is what I cue; what I see in red is what the room sees." With Space as the only shortcut they need to memorize, the cognitive load drops to almost zero. Eight volunteers have rotated through in the first six months, none of them with prior live-production experience.

Recurring Themes

What operators say they love.

We tagged six months of customer notes by theme. These are the four that came up over and over.

01

"It doesn't crash."

The most common testimonial is the most boring one. Operators have stopped fearing the laptop.

02

"Volunteers learn it fast."

Preview / Live / Space — the muscle memory is real, and it transfers between volunteers in minutes.

03

"Bible browser is right there."

No more "pause, switch tabs, copy-paste, switch back" workflow when the pastor calls a fresh reference.

04

"It feels designed for me."

Word for word. Operators are used to enterprise tools that feel built for committees, not for them.

In The Wild

The little moments that add up.

Quotes pulled verbatim from emails, Slack threads, and post-service debriefs.

"The countdown overlay on F1 is what finally got our pre-service start times consistent. The room sees it ticking down — they sit."

Esther Kim A/V · St. Andrew's Parish

"I love that the operator window stays on my laptop. My old setup was: drag everything to the projector, oops, the search bar is now on the projector too. Never again."

JT
Joseph Tan Media · Christ Fellowship

"Reload-resilient projector window saved my Sunday. We accidentally closed the projector tab during announcements. Re-opened, hit F, picked up exactly where it was."

LF
Lina Ferreira Worship Tech · Igreja Renovação

"The PPTX parser handled my pastor's 40-slide notes deck. I was honestly bracing for it to choke. It didn't."

NW
Noah Williams Volunteer · Faith Bible Church

"I appreciate that there's no 'phone home' to a server I don't control. My church's media stays on my church's computer."

PS
Pastor Sun Lead · Riverside Community

"I'm not a 'worship tech' person — I'm an accountant who got volunteered. This is the first tool that didn't make me feel like I needed a manual."

CB
Carmen Bautista Volunteer · Iglesia del Refugio
