A gift for the church,
funded by the church.

Play & Worship is free for every ministry to use — every feature, every page, forever. If the tool has blessed your Sunday mornings and you'd like to support its continued development, give what you can. Any amount helps the next ministry to receive it.

Where your donation goes.

Every gift goes directly back into keeping the project alive for the churches that depend on it every Sunday. Here's how the budget breaks down.

45%

Active development

New features, refinements that operators ask for, accessibility work, and quality-of-life fixes. The biggest line item by design.

25%

Hosting & infrastructure

The marketing site, the Bible API, the PWA installer, security patches, and the email systems that handle support replies.

20%

Ministry partnerships

Direct giving to the congregations and operators who shaped the tool — small ministries get tools, gear, or training they couldn't otherwise afford.

10%

Operator support

One-on-one email replies from a real person, walkthrough calls for new teams, and pre-Sunday-morning emergencies. No chatbots.

Our Heart Behind It

Why we don't charge churches.

Worship software is a strange market. Most tools charge churches a monthly fee for the privilege of running their own Sunday services. We don't think that fits the spirit of what a worship tool should be.

01

The smallest church benefits the most.

A church plant of 20 needs slide software just as badly as a multi-campus network of 5,000. The plant just can't pay for it. Free-by-default fixes that.

02

Donations match how ministry works.

Churches give what they can to support the work. We're treating the operator's chair the same way — give if you can, use it either way.

03

No gates on the gospel.

Scripture is free. Hymns are free. The operator software shouldn't be the friction point that stops a Sunday service from happening.

Beyond Money

Other ways to support.

If a financial gift isn't possible, these matter just as much — sometimes more.

Tell another operator.

The most valuable thing you can do is mention Play & Worship to one other church's media team. Word of mouth is everything.

Share what works.

Email us a short paragraph about your service experience. Real stories help other operators decide to give it a try.

Send a bug report.

A two-line email about something that didn't work for you on a Sunday morning saves the next operator a headache. Every report shapes the roadmap.

Pray for the work.

That the tool keeps serving the church well. That the next congregation to find it gets the lift they need. That's a real gift, and we receive it gladly.

Common Questions

About donations.

See the full FAQ for everything else.

Is the app really free?

Yes — every feature, on every device, with no expiration. There's no "free trial" gate, no premium tier, no operator-account fee. The whole tool runs in your browser; we don't have a way to lock features behind a payment even if we wanted to.

If it's free, why donate?

Because someone has to pay for it to keep existing. Servers, security updates, support emails, and the time to ship new features all cost money. Donations from churches that can give cover the cost so churches that can't never have to.

What payment methods do you accept?

Currently we accept donations via bank transfer, PayPal, or one-time card payment. Click Give to Play & Worship and we'll email you a payment link. We're working on direct in-page card payments — coming soon.

Can I set up a recurring monthly gift?

Yes — email donate@playandworship.app with your preferred monthly amount. Recurring gifts are the most helpful kind because they let us plan ahead, but a one-time gift is just as appreciated.

Will I get a receipt?

Yes. Every donation gets an email receipt within 24 hours. If your church needs a tax-deductible receipt for accounting, mention it in your donation note and we'll send the appropriate documentation.

Can I get a refund on a donation?

If you donated by mistake or wish to reverse it within 30 days, just email us and we'll refund in full. No questions asked, no awkward survey. After 30 days, refunds are case-by-case but we've never refused a reasonable request.

What if I want to donate but my church can't?

Individual donations are absolutely welcome. Many of our donations come from individual operators, worship leaders, or tech volunteers who personally found the tool helpful. Use whatever email and payment account works for you — there's no "church account verification" step.

Is there a way to sponsor a small church's setup?

Yes. If you want to designate your donation to help a specific small ministry with hardware, training, or related costs, mention it in your donation note. We pair sponsors with operators directly. Email hello@playandworship.app.

Use the tool. Bless your congregation.

That's the whole goal. If you can also help it keep running for the next church — even better.
